It’s time to conquer Egypt 🇪🇬

🛬 1 May 2024 – 12 May 2024 🛫

Always used to say that one day we’ll see the pyramids, but we ended up going inside them. What we didn’t know was that Egypt was more than just pyramids or history.

I arrived at 6pm to Sphinx Airport (New) and it’s not connected by transportation to the city center (Cairo). luckily I was picked up from there to the city. I stayed for a couple of nights in Giza then headed to Alexandria.

Alexandria

The most convenient way to get to Alexandria is by train, but for me I wanted to go as the local would do, minibus, total of minibus was 4 but they were so far over 120km, Once I arrived to the city it felt cold in coast part of the city compare to Cairo.

Citadel of Qaitbay / Library

As usual we took a minibus and went to “Citadel of Qaitbay” which it was built in 14th century

Cairo (Giza)

Now It’s time to go back to Cairo to see the pyramids of Giza. At 2AM Claudia arrived which she took a flight from Switzerland. We were so happy to see each other after a month.

The next morning we went on Tour which took us around the pyramids.

Black and white desert (Faiyum)

Honestly I always liked the idea of traveling and discovering places on my own or with other travelers, and I never liked the idea of organized tours, until Claudia suggested to me that we should camp in the sahara desert (safari). Although my country (Algeria) has the biggest desert in Africa, and by far considered to have on of the most beautiful landscapes on earth I always run away from deserted areas, and agreeing to that tour wasn’t easy choice, but made me see one of the best sights I have seen so far.

Important note: Please if you decided to visit black/white desert, it’s very dangerous Do Not go by yourself, you could easily get lost in the desert, choose a tour or hire local driver

The ENd

In the end, if you have a fear of the desert I would suggest taking friends or your partner with you because you’d enjoy it more. We said goodbye to Egypt by touching the Pharaoh’s beard and he’s not happy since then 😛😅
